In the studio business you've got to pause every now and then and take a good look at your equipment list. It is essential that anyone producing high quality recordings regularly take the time to make some serious decisions about what is working for them day in and day out. We've got to decide what is just taking up space in our racks without actually helping the bottom line or improving the quality of the product we deliver to our clients.

I do this at least two or three times each year and I've got to say, it's always a pleasure when I look at my arsenal of Summit Audio equipment. I started using Summit gear in the mid-1980's and while other pieces of equipment may have lost their usefulness or are sometimes eclipsed by never and better technology, the Summit equipment has actually grown in its value brought to my recordings.

Using Summit pre-amps, DI's, equalizers, compressors, and so on in the signal path inserted on the way into my digital recorders allows me to capture some of that warm and rich analog flavor that I love without ever having to print to analog tape anymore.

Time and time again, I have taken already recorded tracks brought to me for mixing that are needing a special bit of magic and by using my tried and true Summit gear I have added exactly that special element to the sound that I was looking for.
